Goal: To reduce crime and recidivism by educating male inmates about substance abuse and the recovery process, while introducing the fundamental components of drug treatment.
Description: Roads to Recovery is an in-custody substance abuse treatment program for men and is run by the San Francisco Sheriff's Department in collaboration with Center Point, Inc. ROADS works to help men address the problems of substance abuse and criminal behavior. The program offers various classes including: Relapse Prevention, Drug Education, Anger/Violence Management and Criminal Thinking.
Through group and individual counseling, clients get support and education that will help them change the behaviors that lead them away from their goals. Roads to Recovery utilizes Case Management, working with the clients to develop realistic plans and supporting them through case management and referrals. Roads to Recovery staff works to place most clients in residential or outpatient substance abuse treatment programs.
